LOCUS office is a platform of research, design, architecture and planning, based in Pristina, Kosovo. A local office, with professionals that have extensive backgrounds in projects of various scales, nationally and internationally, devoted to architecture and planning based on research, with the aim of creating sustainable environments that can be economically affordable, while contributing to social well-being. As a design/build company, we regularly cooperate with experienced local and international contractors, ensuring quality control and supervising them on exceeding the set standards for excellent projects implementation
Adelina TAHIRI NELA, co-founder/architect/urban planner, is a graduate of Montana State University, where she got bachelors of Arts in Environmental Design and Masters of Architecture (2010). She is now a PhD Candidate at University of Ljubljana, with the research area of interest being smart, sustainable and resilient cities. She has practiced sustainable architecture and environmental planning for over 10 years, and leaded projects of various scales, latest one being New US Embassy Compound Pristina, first LEED Gold building in Kosovo. She served as a Quality Assurance Architect (LEED Green Associate) for design and construction phases of this project. She is very interested on participating in community projects, the latest one being Community Design Prishtina project, her role being city exhibition co-curator.
Valdete Pacolli, co-founder/architect, is a graduate of University of Pristina, where she got Master’s degree from Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture (2008). She has an extensive work experience of over 15 years, in the field of architecture, construction, planning and real estate. She has been leading projects of various scales, latest one being “Kodrina Master Plan” in Pristina, a mixed used complex of 462 acres, consisting of residential, commercial, educational and recreational uses. She had a position of Project Supervisor during phases of construction documents and construction execution. She is also certified for design and implementation of green roofs for new and existing buildings, with solar panels integration, from ZinCo, Germany. She has been engaged in community planning projects, such as a Community Design Pristina in collaboration with RIT Kosovo, as a project coordinator and charrette leader (2015).
