Single family home is located in the outskirts of Pristina, in a relatively plane terrain. It is a modern home that meets contemporary client’s needs through space zoning that strategically divides and connects at the same time, common spaces to private ones. When moving through the building, one can experience the subtleties and dynamics created through contrast of tall ceiling spaces versus single-story lower spaces, contrast of materials such as dark wood versus white plaster and light natural stone, and the contrast between common spaces that are connected to their exterior versus private spaces that are inward oriented. The house integrates passive deign strategies such as solar gains, natural daylighting, cross ventilation, passive shading and well insulated envelope that reduce energy consumption, and further integrates the geothermal source for heating and cooling.
